Oleg Gorfinkel Sensei began his Aikido practice in Toronto, Canada, in the year 1988, and has continued to train to this day, finding in this art his heart's path. He has studied under a number of outstanding senseis, having been a direct student of Osamu Obata Shihan and Fran Turner Sensei in Toronto, Canada, Zenko Okimura Shihan in Delaware and Michael Moreno Shihan in Mexico. He has also attended seminars with Doshu Moriteru Ueshiba and Waka Sensei Mitsuteru Ueshiba, as well as such Shihan as Yoshimitsu Yamada, Mitsunari Kanai, Kazuo Chiba, Yukio Kawahara, Nobuyoshi Tamura, Seijuro Masuda, Masatake Fujita, Seiichi Sugano, Akira Tohei, Hitohiro Saito, Christian Tissier, Donovan Waite, Peter Bernath, Ichiro Shibata, T.S. Okuyama, Pat Hendricks and others. He began to teach Aikido in 1993, as an assistant instructor at Aikido Shugyo Dojo in Toronto, under the direction of Fran Turner Sensei. In the year 2000, Oleg returned to Mexico, settling down in Xalapa, Veracruz, and establishing Aikido Tentokai. Oleg Gorfinkel Sensei currently holds the rank of 6th dan, certified by Aikikai Hombu Dojo in Tokyo, Japan.
